Kinky Keeps Climbing
The latest Wall Street Journal/Zogby poll shows the Kinkster within 12 percentage points of Gov. Perry. Our candidate has consistently moved up in the polls, and weâre particularly encouraged by Kinkyâs strong standing in yet another likely voter poll.
The poll results, taken from Aug. 15-21, are as follows:
Perry: 35%
Kinky: 23%
Bell: 23%
Strayhorn: 10%
Youâve heard us say it before and itâs true: Kinky is running against apathy. If the âunlikelyâ voter turns out in force on Election Day, weâll send the politicians packing and ring in a new dawn for Texans. If voter turnout remains low and the same 29% show up to vote, Rick Perry will become the longest serving governor in Texas history.
The choice is up to you.
These polls focus on the âlikelyâ voter. While we are counting on âlikelyâ voters to cast their vote for Kinky, if we can increase voter turnout by 10% or more and get the folks who havenât had a reason to vote in years get out to the voting booths, the Kinkster will be our next governor.
One of our opponents spent hundreds of thousands of dollars on a July TV ad campaign, and that timing has inflated his true standing in this poll. The other independent is losing steam steadily. As Election Day nears, Kinky Friedman is emerging as the only valid candidate with a strong and growing grassroots army from El Paso to Texarkana that will send him to victory in November.
With your vote, we can bring some honesty and fresh ideas into the political system and bring an end to politics as usual in Texas.
As Kinky says, "Politics is the only field where the more experience you have, the worse you get. It's time to clean house. How much worse does it have to get?"
